(91-94 points) A ripe yet equally cool, pure and airy nose is comprised by hints of white peach, apricot, lavender and a hint of hazelnut. There is excellent intensity to the stony and attractively textured and beautifully delineated flavors that terminate in a bone-dry and youthfully austere finish that is quite tightly wound.

I like the ripeness of the nectarine, pear and apple fruit, combined with notes of brioche and white chocolate. It’s rich and delicious on the palate with a full body and satisfyingly buttery layers. Excellent concentration. Drink now or hold.

Mid lemon and lime with a grassy note alongside yellow fruit. Robust in a correctly Charmes-like fashion, with the fruit extending nicely across the palate and an attractive lick of oak to finish. The structure copes nicely with the weight of fruit and the aftertaste persists with well-judged oak. DIAM 10 closure.

The 2019 Meursault Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with citrus fruit, popcorn, almonds and nicely integrated oak. It's potent, if maybe a bit too ostentatious for some. The palate is well-balanced, smooth in texture, almost creamy, with a countervailing thread of acidity. Lightly spiced and cohesive, the oak comes across prominently on the finish, although that should be enmeshed with time. Not bad, perhaps just missing a bit of grace.
