Including small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon RMS is a more supple, sexy red offering great cassis and almost blue fruits, notes of white flowers, spice, and a touch of minerality, full-bodied richness, and sweet tannins. It’s beautifully balanced, has building richness, and a wonderful sense of opulence paired with elegance.

A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 12% Merlot, the 2018 Red Wine RMS has a deep garnet-purple color, bursting with notions of blueberry pie, boysenberries and crème de cassis, plus wafts of black olives, lavender and pencil lead. The massive, full-bodied palate is packed with decadent blue and black fruit preserves, framed by firm, grainy tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and savory. The wine was aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak and has an alcohol of 15.6%. 720 cases were made.

The 2018 Red Wine RMS is a powerful, intense wine. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice and new leather give the 2018 tons of richness and volume. There is some coarseness in the tannin that needs time to soften. Otherwise, this is nicely done. By Antonio Galloni on December 2020
