(89-91 points) The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Crapiots 1er Cru just misses the precision of the En Champs, coming across a little broody with a subtle briny influence. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and quite succulent/fleshy in texture. White pepper and a touch of bay leaf appear toward the finish. Maybe a little rough-hewn compared to their more propitious premier crus, but it should drink well for 12–15 years. -- Neal Martin
