The 2018 Moulin-à-Vent Champ de Cour is a plush, generous wine. The presence of clay in these granitic soils yields a Beaujolais endowed with tremendous presence and breadth. Red berry fruit, blood orange, spice and floral notes all develop as the wine starts to open up. This east-facing site is protected from the elements, which helps preserve freshness that works so well in balancing the wine’s natural resonance. (Drink between 2022-2030) - Antonio Galloni

This focused, light-to-medium bodied red offers a medley of steeped black cherry, tangy blackberry and apricot notes flanked with tea, cedar and anise elements. A vivid hint of rosewater defines the long finish. Drink now through 2033. 750 cases made, 150 cases imported.

A smoky and luxurious barrel scent introduces this wine, woven in harmony with the rose overtones of the fruit. The wine is powerful and gracious, blackberry flavors filling the tannic extract. Grown at a site fully exposed to Moulin-à-Vent’s winds, where the granitic soils are influenced by clay, made with 70 percent whole clusters in the fermentation, this needs four or five years of age.

Champ du Cour is a windy single-vineyard sited on typical granite/clay soils. Very attractive violet and peony aromas with intense dark berry and cherry fruit on the palate, backed up with brisk acidity. Refined, elegant Moulin-à-Vent with character but also a lot of class. Slightly grainy tannins suggest a few months in bottle will reap further rewards. (Drink between 2022-2027)
