91+ Monsieur Vincent noted that the yields here were quite correct in 2016 and the wine was showing quite nicely at the time of my visit, offering up a bright bouquet of apple, touches of tangerine and pink grapefruit, chalky soil tones, spring flowers, fresh almond and a whisper of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and zesty, with a fine core, very good cut and grip and a long, nascently complex and energetic finish. Good juice.

This is very nice, and is certainly one of the best examples of this appellation in 2016. Notes of citrus zest, spring flowers and white peach precede a glossy, cool and elegant palate, with succulent acids, good concentration and a taut finish for the vintage. Tasted from bottle, Leflaive's 2016 Puligny-Montrachet Village is showing well, wafting from the glass with a fragrant bouquet of pink grapefruit, white peach and spring flowers, complemented by a delicate touch of citrus blossom on the upper register. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a glossy attack, good depth and concentration and a bright but open-knit, charming core, concluding with an elegantly saline finish. The wine's aromatic exotica mark it out as a product of its vintage, but it's a classy Puligny Village from this important domaine. - William Kelley
