Still marketed as "Touraine AC" because the Chinon appellation has been extended only since the 2016 vintage, the 2015 Touraine Clos de la Plante Martin offers an intense yet pure and chalky bouquet with a pretty attractive and smoky reduction. Due to the warm and sunny vintage, it is darker toned and richer on the nose than the bright and fresh 2016. The palate is full-bodied and round but also very fresh and mineral, finishing with lingering salinity and stimulating freshness. It's another far too young Chenin Blanc whose finesse is really remarkable for the 2015 vintage. There are a bit more tannins here, and the wine needs a richer dish to show its elegance.- SR
