The 2013 Roero Riserva is darker and more powerful than the Vigna di Lino, with greater tannic heft and oak influence. Even so, all the elements come together in a super-expressive, imposing Roero loaded with personality. The 2013 needs at least another year or two in bottle to allow some of the floral, spice and menthol overtones that lurk in the background to become more prominent.
