jebdunnuck.com, June 2025

As expected, the 2010 Château Trotanoy is a dense, powerful, masculine Pomerol in the vintage that does everything right. Revealing a deep ruby/plum hue, as well as a smorgasbord-like array of black cherries, currants...

, April 2011

With less of the soft juicy fruit qualities found in some 2010s this favors firmer mid- and backpalates. While somewhat foursquare the wine still has a core of blackberry laced fruit and also maintains an underlying...

Decanter, June 2019

Warm days and cold nights were the signature of 2010, similar in many ways to a typical Californian vintage. This is particularly good for giving concentration and complexity to the resulting wines, and the abundance of...

jamessuckling.com, November 2013

Stunning nose with wild strawberries, vanilla and raspberries. Opens up with a little time in the glass to sweet licorice, blueberries and some graphite. Round and full on the palate with an amazing fruit and refined...

janeanson.com, September 2024

Vivid and full of clarity on the aromatics, this is a delicious wine with phenomenal black truffle, liquorice, cigar box and cocoa bean woven through the concentrated cassis fruits and fresh mint leaf. 50% new oak for ageing.

TheWineCellarInsider.com, April 2016

This is one sexy beast. With the texture of velvet, the aromas of a flower shop that also sells fruit, chocolate and truffles, the wine is incredibly rich and sensuous. Yes, it is still young, but it is so stunning, it...

The Wine Independent, January 2023

Made from 100% Merlot, the 2010 Trotanoy is deep garnet in color. Very shut down to start, it needs a lot of coaxing to bring out notes of kirsch, blackberry preserves, and stewed plums, leading to hints of cumin seed...

Wine Spectator, March 2013

Dense and slightly chewy, this features girders of charcoal-coated grip running from start to finish, along with bay leaf, smoldering tobacco and warm tar. But don't be fooled—there's also loads of fruit, offering dark...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2020

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Trotanoy has a nose of prunes, dried mulberries and baked black cherries with hints of cigar box and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a good amount of muscular fruit with a...

Wine Enthusiast, May 2013

A complex wine, exhibiting smoky tannins, rich fruit, a dark texture and concentration. Produced by the Moueix winemaking team, it feels complete with its sense of style and elegance as well as weight. Give this powerful...

Vinous, April 2020

(94+ points) The 2010 Trotanoy is surly and backward on the nose, clearly a Pomerol demanding extended cellaring. The palate is medium-bodied, its bold tannic chassis just beginning to soften. This has a superb bead of...

Trotanoy is vinified in small concrete vats and the young wine matures in 50% new oak barrels for about 18 months. When ready, this wine shows enormous complexity and concentration. It can easily be kept 25 years or more in great vintages.
