Bursting from the glass with aromas of toasted sesame, pastry cream, ripe pears, vanilla pod and clear honey, Coche's 2009 Meursault Les Rougeots is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with fine depth and concentration at the core, ripe acids and a charming, gourmand profile. This is also notably ripe with white peach apricot and a hint of mango combining with notes of soft wood toast anise and hazelnut. There is impressive complexity and concentration to the dense and seductively textured flavors that brim with mouth coating dry extract all wrapped in an attractively dry precise and balanced finish. There is so much mid-palate concentration that this will be approachable and enjoyable young but age well too.
