Only the fourth-ever release of this cuvée, the 2008 Champagne Celebris Rosé pours an orange/salmon color and is outstanding on opening, with a perfume of fresh rose petals, honeycomb, and cherry blossoms. Long on the palate, it’s persistent with fresh acidity and feels like it will last for ages. Medium to full-bodied, it’s exquisitely detailed, with a soft mineral texture and a refined mousse. Though it is drinking beautifully already, this outstanding wine is going to improve if cellared in good condition. Drink it over the coming decades. - Audrey Frick

The Celebris Rose 2008 Brut presents an inviting, savory nose replete with ripe orchard fruit, fresh brioche, raw almonds and hints of honeysuckle. Medium-bodied, texturally classy and clean, the palate fills out with a depth of spiced red fruit concentration that is framed by energetic, age-defying acidity and a long, saline finish. A 72% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir blend of which 8% is still wine, it was aged 12 years on lees and finished with a 6.5 gram per liter dosage. This 2008 is a very complete, well-made, and gastronomic rosé of which 15,000 bottles were made. - Sarah Mayo

A Chardonnay-dominated rosé, this Champagne is fruity while also textured. It is a structured wine, full of minerals and still amazingly young. With its freshness almost entirely intact and few signs of maturity, the wine could obviously age further. Drink now, because it is a great wine, alternatively age at least until 2025. Roger Voss

(94+ points) Offering up aromas of honeycomb, warm biscuits, red berries and spices, the just-released 2008 Extra Brut Celebris Rosé is full-bodied, ample and layered, with a concentrated, even expansive mid-palate; but if this Celebris Rosé leads with its voluminous core of fruit, it's its tangy spine of acidity and taut structure that dominate the bone-dry finish. That structure will demand a bit of patience, but this is an impressive effort from Gosset.- WK

The 2008 Brut Rosé Celebris is an absolutely gorgeous Champagne that captures the essence of the Gosset house style. Bright and ethereal in feel, the 2008 is deceptive in its first impression, but it has plenty of depth to match its decidedly regal, understated personality. The 6.5 grams of dosage feels perfectly judged, just enough to fill out the layers and avoid some of the starkness these wines can show, but not so much as to be overpowering. Crushed red berry fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper build as this finely-sculpted Rosé shows off its charms. This is beautifully done. Dosage is 6.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: April, 2021. A rich rosé in a vinous style, with steeped raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors and an aromatic overtone of whole grain toast, crystallized honey and salted almond. Fine and creamy in texture, with a firm backbone of well-knit acidity creating a mouthwatering impression on the lightly chalky, herb- and spice-laced finish. Chardonnay and Pinot. Drink now through 2028. 50 cases imported.

This copper-hued rosé is 72 percent chardonnay, the balance pinot noir, of which 8 percent is red wine from Ambonnay, Bouzy and Cumières. Recently disgorged, its long rest on the lees did nothing to deter its freshness, spinning apple-blossom scents and tart nectarine flavors past a brisk, mushroom savor of maturity. “It reminds me of Thanksgiving,” one taster said of the savory-sweet balance, a zesty-rich Champagne that will bring happiness to a holiday table.
