NOSE
Pronounced cooked agave, citrus and tropical fruit, black pepper, and stone
PALATE
Bold and viscous in the mouth. The flavors follow the aromas with intense minerality and cooked agave. Adding water opens up notes of tropical fruit, pepper, and spearmint
FINISH
The viscous texture keeps the flavors on the palate for quite some time. Notes of pineapple, black pepper, and a subtle cinnamon hold steady until gently tapering off nicely.
CONCLUSION
This tequila is not going to be for everyone. At 108 proof, the heat is very present but that also means you can add a cube or a little water without diluting the flavors. For me, one ice cube is the sweet spot. It gives the tequila a soothing chill while opening up a complex array of flavors previously hidden by the proof. It may take some time to get used to, but the reward is an outstanding, agave-forward, full-flavored Blanco worthy of the Camarena name.
