"The Varnelli family began making amaro in 1868, and today four female members of the family run the show. This earthy elixir is made by heating selected herbs and roots over a fire and then sweetened with the local honey from Monti Sibillini. The Varnelli ladies recommend drinking it neat, as a hot toddy with lemon, or mixed with club soda as an aperitif. Whatever method you choose, you can't go wrong." -SFWTC Staff
