2010 Mastroberardino - Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio
In-Store Notes2010 Mastroberardino Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso DOC, Campania, Italy. Intense ruby red with layers of cherry, plum, raspberry and strawberry aromas, supported by spiced notes of pepper and clove. Warm, well structured and smooth, with fine tannins and a background of fruits and spices. A big wine that best pairs with flavored pastas or polenta with meat-based sauces or sophisticated red meats. A deliciously surprising pairing for grilled swordfish. (Winery Notes) Piedirosso is an Italian red grape variety from Campania and can be found on the island of Capri. Used as a blending wine in the Naples area with Olivella and Aglianico where the wine is known as Lachryma Christi del Vesuvio.
