2007 Bodegas Terrazas de los Andes - Cheval des Andes Mendoza
"Cheval des Andes" is the creative collaboration between the St. Emilion grand cru classe estate, Cheval Blanc, and Argentina's best high-altitude estate, Terrazas de los Andes. The grapes for this elegant cuvee hail from a 50-hectare vineyard in Mendoza's prestigious Luhan de Cuyo region, composed of sandy loam soil. Aged for 18 months in French oak and blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot, it is the perfect marriage of Old World and New World, where the Bordelais art of assemblage meets Argentinian creativity and innovation. Dark berry fruit abounds in the glass, met with an opulent, silky texture and fine-grained tannins. This might be one of the finest inter-winery cuvees we've tasted so far!" - SFWTC Staff
