2012 Domaine Chiroulet Famille Fezas - Cotes de Gascogne Blanc "Terres Blanches"
"While Gascony is best-known for its Armagnacs, the Fezas family is part of a growing wave of producers who are opting to bottle their white wines as well as distilling them. The family has been growing grapes for six generations and has mastered the art of texture. Most Cotes de Gascogne whites are made from the ubiquitous Ugni Blanc, however the Fezas's blend 50% Gros-Manseng (the grape of Basque country) with 25% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Ugni Blanc, creating a delightful amalgam of white flower aromas, a succulent and leesy texture, and a long-mineral-laden finish. This is one of the best all-occasion table whites we've had in a long time." -SFWTC Staff
