2011 Marc Colin & Ses Fils - Santenay 1er Cru La Comme
"Marc Colin built his reputation crafting elegant red and white burgundies, based out of the village of Saint Aubin. Today, his children run the estate, and are starting to integrate organic principles into their sustainable farming practices. Their parcel of the premier cru vineyard of La Comme hugs the border of AOC Chassagne-Montrachet and is composed of marl and limestone soils. This soft and plummy Pinot Noir is entirely de-stemmed, is aged for 15 months in oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered. The results? An approachable, spicy, pedigreed red burgundy that's read to drink young. Only 208 cases produced." -SFWTC Staff
Burghound: 89 Points
“This actually closely resembles the nose of the old vines Santenay though this is clearly more complex with good richness and solid concentration to the delicious middle weight flavors that display an attractive touch of minerality on the vibrant and well-detailed finish that delivers very good length. This is really quite good and is worth a look.”
