2011 Evesham Wood - Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills
"Erin and Jordan Nuccio sourced fruit from five different vineyard sites scattered throughout Oregon’s Willamette Valley's Eola Amity Hills appellation, creating a Pinot Noir that is both savory and sweet. They use natural methods to achieve elegance and balance in this fine cuvee. Highly aromatic with telltale notes of dried rose petal, spicy raspberry, black pepper and freshly tilled soil, this delicious Pinot Noir is both silky and wonderfully structured. Wine Advocate: 89 Points
"Evesham Wood’s basic Eola-Amity Hills bottling of 2011 Pinot Noir – featuring Pommard fruit from Eola Springs and Hidden Rocks vineyards – brims delightfully with tangy, skin and pit-inflected sour cherry laced with lemon rind and smoky black tea. There is a slight rusticity of tannin in the finish but it manages to contribute to this exuberantly juicy Pinot’s sense of grip and invigoration. There were 500 cases of this fine value, so have at it! I suspect the wine will show well through at least 2016."
