2010 Window Pane - By Kobalt Red Napa Valley
"Whatever partners Kevin Carriker and winemaker Mark Herold touch seems to turn to gold. Kobalt has quickly become a cult classic among Napa Valley wine lovers, and "Window Pane" is no exception. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Carignan mingle well into a rich and velvety blend with a long finish. Rewarded 93 points by The Wine Advocate for its balance, depth and complexity, its rich earth and fruit flavors make this an excellent bottle to bring as an upscale host(ess) gift or to serve with beef dishes of all kinds. Wine Advocate: 93 Points
"The Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2010 Window Pane wraps around the palate with layers of dark plums, olives, cassis, leather and scorched earth. With time in the glass, the wine fleshes out nicely. This is an absolutely gorgeous bottle of wine from Kobalt. The 2010 is an unusual blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Petite Sirah and 7% Carignane/Graciano, but it all works beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. Mark Herold makes these delicious wines for Kobalt. All of the Mark Herold projects have their own distinctive signatures, and that is very much the case here as well." -Antonio Galloni
