2010 Deltetto - Pinot Nero Langhe
"Pinot Noir? Have we been misdirected by our GPS? Not at all! Remember Antonio's Brut Rose is the most sought-after Rose in all of Italy and it happens to be half Pinot Noir. The Roero district of Piedmont is ideal for this wonderful grape. Antonio bottles this for the local market and it has legions of followers. When I asked for some while I was there this summer, I was sure he would say no. Never say never. Twenty five cases are here in the U.S. for the first time. Taste unoaked (botti), unfiltered, gulpable and dry Pinot Noir with gentle tannins, quite unlike those "sweet" Pinots blanketing the market these days. This wine whispers in your ear, 'enjoy me.' All for $20. You bet!" -SFWTC Staff
