2010 Chateau La Coustarelle - Cahors "Cuvee Tradition"
"The Cassot family crafts this delicious quaffer from the appellation of Cahors, one of the most pedigreed terroirs of the southwest. Regarded as one of the AOC's top producers, they farm 30 hectares of vines that are divided into three terraces of clay and gravel soils. Their blend consists of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot, the latter of which is a growing trend in Cahors used to soften the grippy tannins of the Malbec. It's hard to say no to these notes luscious blackberries and spicy hints of licorice. Frankly, one bottle just won't do." -SFWTC Staff
