2010 Calera - Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard Mt. Harlan
"Ryan is Calera's highest altitude vineyard. It benefits from idyllic exposure and as a result is velvety smooth with impeccably balanced dark berry and black cherry fruit, along with rustic notes of spiced tobacco, tar and roasted fennel. The wine's natural acidity supports the expansive flavors and complex aromatics. This is a serious effort that while drinking well now deserves another 2-6 years in the cellar before it really starts to come into its own." -SFWTC Staff
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
"A larger scaled, structured effort that oozes kirsch, strawberry, raspberry, incense and liquid flower-like aromas and flavors, the 2010 Pinot Noir Ryan Vineyard hits the palate with a full-bodied, voluptuously textured feel before firming up considerably on the finish with layers of tannin. It’s a beauty, but needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will shine through 2025+. Drink 2015-2025+."
