2009 Hamacher - Pinot Noir Willamette Valley
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
"Hamacher’s 2009 Pinot Noir – a fall release – is informed by a preponderance of Pommard vines from five prestigious sites to a large extent represented in other recent vintages as well: Durant, Manuella, Lazy River, Highland, and Wind Hill. Brimming with sappy, tart-edged cassis and mulberry tinged with tobacco and pungent green herbs, this displays a levity (at 13.7% alcohol); refinement of tannin; and vivacity unusual for its vintage, finishing with impressive if understated persistence. It should be worth following for at least 6-8 years and is the sort of wine likely to grow on those who give it some time to perform and evolve at table."
