2008 Giuseppe Quintarelli - Primofiore
"Primofiore, loosely translated, means “first flower.” The wine is aptly named because the grapes are the first picked and the wine is the first to be released. Composed of 50% Corvina and equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc, Primofiore is the only red wine produced by Quintarelli that isn't made from partially dried grapes. The 2008 is simply gorgeous with its multi-layered notes of dark currant, floral aromatics, blackberry compote, toasted almonds, olive tapenade and summer truffles." -SFWTC Staff
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
"The 2008 Primofiore exhibits loads of character with energetic aromas of forest fruit, dried blueberry, dried herb, hummus and ginger. I like the 2008 slightly better than the 2009 thanks to the sheer beauty of the bouquet. The wine is loaded with all kinds of balsamic intensity. Drink 2014-2018."
