Our Shipping & Delivery Policy |
GENERAL INFORMATION
- All orders are subject to availability. Payment will not be processed until inventory is confirmed and your order is ready to be shipped.
- Your order may be split into multiple shipments based on inventory location, therefore items in your order may arrive at different times. In the event your order is shipped in multiple packages, you will receive separate tracking numbers pertaining to your order.
- San Francisco Wine Trading Company is required to collect and remit sales and/or excise taxes to various jurisdictions. Your order will include the legally required tax for your shipping address.
- An adult 21 years or older must be present to receive and sign for delivery of alcoholic beverages. Carriers will not leave packages without an adult signature under any circumstance. Carrier will request legal proof of age at the point of delivery.
- San Francisco Wine Trading Company is not responsible for damage to items that result from heat or extreme temperatures during shipment. This includes but is not limited to freezing, leakage, “pushing” or otherwise damaged corks, resulting from heat or extreme temperatures during shipment. See below for additional information about the risk of shipping during extreme heat or cold.
SHIPPING DESTINATIONS
- In the U.S., direct shipment of wine and spirits is controlled at the state level. Laws vary from state to state and change frequently. Please call us at (415) 731-6222 if you have any questions about shipping to your state.
- San Francisco Wine Trading Company reserves the right to cancel your shipment if we believe that such shipment will subject San Francisco Wine Trading Company to risk of legal action or other harm.
- We cannot ship to PO, APO, or FPO box offices.
TIMEFRAMES
- We ship orders on weekdays only. Your order will not ship on a Saturday or Sunday. Please take this into consideration when choosing a shipping method.
- Likewise, unless explicitly requested, all shipments will be delivered by the carrier on a weekday. If you do contact us to request a Saturday delivery, extra fees will apply.

SHIPPING WEATHER ADVISORY
- We prepare orders for immediate shipment during normal business hours. Be advised that shipping during periods of heat or extreme cold is at your own risk.
- San Francisco Wine Trading Company is not responsible for damage to items that result from heat or extreme temperatures during shipment. This includes but is not limited to freezing, leakage, “pushing” or otherwise damaged corks, resulting from heat or extreme temperatures during shipment.
- We strongly advise you to postpone ground shipping when weather conditions are not suitable. Please contact us if you would like us to temporarily hold your shipment.
- San Francisco Wine Trading Company reserves the right to hold shipment of your wine during extreme weather conditions, or for carrier service disruptions due to inclement weather.
