Meet Our Team |
Gary Marcaletti - Spirits Buyer |
Founder Gary Marcaletti got his start in the wine and spirits business in the early 1970's working for San Francisco's Tower Market. However by 1976, he was ready for more. Armed with a solid industry foundation and an entrepreneurial nature, he opened up his own shop in our present location and named it "Mr. Liquor". In the late 90's, customer tastes and interests shifted away from hard liquor to wine. Seizing the opportunity to adapt, Gary relaunched the store as The San Francisco Wine Trading Company, featuring an expanded wine department and an excellent selection of high-end spirits. A stalwart in both the West Portal and the wine and spirits communities, Gary has a regular clientele and a loyal following. It isn't often that he can be found outside the store, but when he is, he's travelling, swimming at 'the club', or sharing food and wine at the table with family and friends. Email Gary via gary@sfwtc.com.

Julia Marcaletti - Wine Buyer |
Bay Area native and long-time Francophile, Julia Marcaletti has spent her career in wine, food, and the hospitality industry. Before signing on with SFWTC, Julia worked for Air France, Westin Hotels, and Francis Ford Coppola Winery. As our wine buyer, Julia is responsible for sourcing some of the finest wines from around the world, and planning our well-attended weekend wine tastings. While a rotating cameo of talented winemakers, importers, and distributors keep Julia's palate busy, she prefers to drink the wines of the Loire Valley and Southern Rhône--that is, unless she can get her hands on a rare bottle of Masseto from Tuscany! For help ordering any of our wine selections, or information on our marketing or special events, please contact julia@sfwtc.com.

Cameron Anderson - Operations Associate |
Bay Area native Cameron Anderson spent his career working in various retail positions before falling in love with the wine industry. His mother gave him his first crash course in wine, presenting him with the most common varietals to explore and appreciate. Amazed at how seemingly ordinary and humble grapes could be made into a wine with so much body and complexity, Cameron set his sights on wine retail and joined the SFWTC family. You can typically find Cameron with a glass of wine and an attitude that in life, the glass is more half full than half empty. Email Cameron via cameron.anderson@sfwtc.com.
