Thibault Liger-Belair’s family has been in the winemaking business in Burgundy since the early 18th century. In 2001, Thibault created his own Domaine which is comprised of 7.25 hectares of the family’s holdings in the communes of the Haute Cote-de-Nuits, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, he produces, among others, the following appellations: Haute Cote-de-Nuits La Prieuré, Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Saint Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin La Croix des Champs, Richebourg and Clos Vougeot. All of the Domaine’s vineyards are cultivated biodynamically. Thibault does not look to extract but rather to infuse his wines. He believes that the better a grape is treated, the better the wine will be. He aims to produce crus of great purity, without artificial means or abusive extraction. Thibault does not wish to establish "signature" wines or develop a "house style". Instead his aim is to let the individual terroirs speak out clearly for themselves.
