2011 Over the Edge by Escarpment, Pinot Noir, Martinborough New Zealand. This dynamic Martinborough Pinot Noir offers up all of the delicately nuanced and perfumed spice notes that one would expect from a French Burgundy coupled with the incredibly pure and fresh red berry and cherry cola qualities typically found in a Pinot grown along California’s Russian River.   Finding a Pinot Noir that is this good at this price is near impossible.  Smart money will buy this one by the caseload.
