2010 Occhipinti, Il Frappato, IGT Sicily. At a very young age, Arianna Occhipinti fully embraced the biodynamic winemaking philosophy and utilizes it to this day in her estate-owned vineyards in southern Sicily. The 2010 Frappato is a serious effort. Expressive and bold there is ample weight to this elegant beauty but also plenty of subtle nuance and complexity as well. Crushed strawberry and raspberry fruit abound followed by a combination of savory and sweet spices, fennel, roasted herbs and spicy black pepper.
