"A dark, totally impenetrable wine, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Martin Stelling Vineyard is difficult to evaluate today. With time in the glass, the aromas and flavors start to open up a bit, but the reality is that the 2009 is likely to require considerable patience. Melted road tar, smoke and violets lead to the bluest, blackest of fruit as the wine gradually shows off its pedigree. Firm tannins support a huge, palate staining finish.
