2007 Eric Kent Syrah "Kalen's Big Boy" Sonoma County.
Dark purple in color, the nose offers up plum, blackberry, boysenberry, maple, minerals, light pepper, fresh earth, herbs and porcini mushroom. (A trusted tasting group can come up with a glorious set of adjectives!) The palate reveals rich yet balanced tannins and more acidity than it’s ‘06 predecessor, both of which provide ample foundation for the plum, blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper and smoky meatiness that follow.
