2010 Domaine du Deffends, red Coteaux Varois en Provence "Champs de la Truffiere" France. Domaine du Deffends is located at the base of Monts Aurelian, on the Roman road that shares the same name. The soil is pure limestone and clay and the region is home to some of Provence�s most delectable black summer truffles. A blend of equal parts Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 is very rustic with dark notes of blackberry fruit, kalamata olives, wild mushrooms, thyme and cedar spice.
