"From Sciacarellu vines left to run wild and un-pruned for a year, Abbatucci’s first-of-its-kind 2011 Rouge Frais Imperial weighs-in at a mere 11.5% alcohol, which certainly contributes to its sense of levity and refreshment but by no means condemns it to emaciation or under-ripeness. On the contrary, this highly distinctive libation brims with brightly juicy, ripe cherry and purple plum. Fruit pit and pistachio supply delightful counterpoint on a polished palate leading to sustained, mouthwatering satisfaction. While not compellingly complex, and almost surely destined to show best within the next 9-12 months, to miss out on tasting this generous and utterly distinctive libation would be a shame." -Wine Advocate
