2010 Claiborne & Churchill, Gewurztraminer, Central Coast. This dry California Gewurztraminer is considered the flagship wine of the Claiborne & Churchill estate and is now in its 30th year of production. Only 990 cases were produced in 2010 from select Arroyo Secco, Santa Barbara and Paso Robles vineyards. The 2010 simply bursts with fresh, fruity aromas of lychee and ripe pear, and has a lovely tangy citrus edge that is both refreshing and invigorating. As generous as this wine is, it finishes bone dry with hints of rose petal and perfume.
