2011 Bodegas Riojanas, red Rioja Canchales Vino Joven, Spain. This wine is the perfect marriage of old world tradition and new world precision. Composed exclusively of Tempranillo, the grapes come from dry-farmed vineyards in the sub-regions of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. This young wine is incredibly vibrant with floral aromatics, notes of Bing cherry and loganberry, well-integrated spice and a touch of fennel.
