Lambrusco is a hearty red sparkling wine that comes from Castelvetro in the province of Modena. The bubbles are large, purple and rather clumsy, but that is part of Lambrusco’s regional charm. Bone dry with robust and enthusiastic bubbles that quickly settle once poured in the glass, the non-vintage Barbolini offers up rustic notes of blackberry, tar, dried herbs and anise.
